...I don't know what happened here. The volume on the instruments is really weird, making some things way louder or quieter than they should be. The lyrics also often clash with the melody.

Goes down a good bit. The poor mixing combined with the lyrics cover over the previously (already infrequent) emotional parts. The lyrics don't make up for it.
